A pixel-art cyberpunk pawnshop sim: appraise fakes, buy low and sell high, build production lines, handle security and AI-controlled customers, and pay rent every seven days. The usual shorthand is Papers, Please scrutiny plus shop management plus light RPG.

Windows PC via Steam only at launch. No native Mac build. Steam Deck compatibility is rated Playable.

How much does it cost?

How long is a run?
There's no fixed answer. The deed costs 12,000 CR on Normal, and reaching it depends on how fast you convert profit into capacity. A first run learning the systems usually takes double-digit hours; experienced runs are much shorter.
Gameplay
Which specialization should I pick first?
Apprentice. Tagged Recommended For New Players, 550 credits, storage and sellable stock from Day 1. Full comparison.
Which difficulty?
Mark Up (Normal). It has one Landlord's Grace and +5% rent per cycle, which is the most forgiving live-or-die point. Price Gouge (+2%) is the relaxed option.
What happens if I can't pay rent?
With grace left you can skip once; the arrears roll into next week. With no grace, refusing ends the run immediately. Ending conditions.
How do I buy the shop?
Save the full deed price — 12,000 CR on Mark Up, 24,000 on Hard, 36,000 on Challenge — and buy it from the Landlord. That triggers the Buyout ending.
What's the fastest way to make money?
Not one trick, but an order: cover the first week with household goods, then add a water line, and fill quiet days with appraisal work. Money guide.
How do I recognise an Aug?
Chip at the temple, unusual pupils, a fixed grin, unnatural stillness or twitching, an outfit that doesn't match the faction, and robotic or overly formal speech. Stack tells or confirm with an Aug Scanner. Don't shoot on a hunch.
Can I shoot customers?
Yes, but killing an ordinary customer is heavily punished. Shooting a confirmed Aug is the correct move. The shotgun only works while someone is at the window.
Do I have to trade water?
No. Water has the clearest payback, but furnace ingots, wine and fish farming all work depending on your specialization and supply.
Is there co-op?
No, it's single-player.
Are mods supported?
Yes, through Steam Workshop. Back up saves first, and remember balance mods invalidate guide numbers. Mod guide.
